Opportunity, Access & Uplift Premiere Party

We hosted a sold-out screening and premiere party for Opportunity, Access & Uplift: The Evolving Legacy of HBCUs at Chicago’s Little Black Pearl.

When collectivist and Chicago Tonight anchor Brandis Griffith Friedman told us about her new documentary, Opportunity, Access & Uplift, we knew it was a perfect opportunity to celebrate HBCUs and host a ‘documentary event’ that went beyond the usual wine-and-panel format.

Instead, we planned a party with a live screening, DJ set from Chicago’s Joe Kollege, tons of food and pop-up photo exhibit curated by Collectivist Danielle Scruggs. The sold out event raised almost $2000 for UNCF, the nation’s largest private scholarship provider to Black and other students of color.. We’re now taking the event series on the road with a live screening and party on Dillard University’s campus in New Orleans.
